Ten

Ten is a great number don'tcha think?
It's a nice round number...
It's the number of toes on a tootsie...
It's the number of tiny little fingers on tiny little hands...
It's the number of years in a decade...
And it's how many months old Nuggey is.
I am a little late with this post for good reason...I was waiting for some tiny little mosquito bites on Peyton's forehead to disappear.  Unfortunately while waiting, her collection grew.  I like to say they bite her because she is so darn sweet.  Mike said the two on her forehead were her "horns comin in".  I am not sure what he was insinuating...
"May I come out now please?"
"I am thinking real hard, that's why my tongue is out.  Just like my Mom does when she is thinkin."
Happy 10 Months Sweet Girl!!!  We love you!

A little girl needs Daddy

A little girl needs Daddy
For many, many things:
Like holding her high off the ground
Where the sunlight sings!
Like being the deep music
That tells her all is right
When she awakens frantic with
The terrors of the night.
Like being the great mountain
That rises in her heart
And shows her how she might get home
When all else falls apart.
Like giving her the love
That is her sea and air,
So diving deep or soaring high.
She'll always find him there.

Peyton's First Play Date

It was a beautiful day for some fun-n-sun yesterday, and lucky for us we had some special people to spend the day with.  Peyton had her first official play date with Mr. Connor.  It was so fun to see her interact with another baby/kid.  Check out all their fun!!!
The intial introduction...looks like they are bonding over their love of water.
"Do you know where all this water goes Connor?"
Swing time....a favorite of both.
Finally to conclude our fun filled morning....ICE CREAM!!!

I am not the kind of Mother...

....who would put their child in a laundry basket to keep them contained while I sort the clothes.
Also, I would never hand that child random objects to keep her occupied and quiet, I mean content.

I am most certainly not the type of mother would then put her child on the dog's bed to play, even if it was covered with a clean towel.  How disgusting some people are...
...and while that child is playing, I would never give her a cookie, watch her let the dog lick it and then let her eat the cookie.  I would never do any of those deplorable things.
Or....Maybe I would!
Who cares....kids will be kids and parents will be parents.  It's not always pretty what we choose to let our kids do but it sure does make for some great photos.

From Behind

I can't help but get excited when Peyton stands by herself.  I know in just a few short weeks she is going to experience so many firsts...letting go, taking her first step and falling on her cute, little diaper butt.
"I'm being careful Mom."
"I'm being cute Mom."
That's her favorite toy right now. You can tell she feels like a big kid when she stands and pushes all the buttons.
Sometimes she turns around and smiles at me as if to say, "check this out Mom".

What she's been up to...

As Peyton's 10th month apporaches she is becoming more of a kid everday.  I see her baby features and actions slowly disappearing before me eyes.  It makes me sad at times but then I realize how exciting it is to watch her grow and learn each day.  She officially has skipped crawling and has chosen to move straight to walking.  She can take several steps while holding on to us or the couch.  She also has pulled up several times all by herself.  I predict she will be on the move by her first birthday.
This is the "I just woke up. Why are you taking my picture?" face.
This is funny to me....she looks mad!
Attemtping to pull up.
Made it ot her knees....almost there baby girl.
