Waiting on Isaac
I am taking a break from preparing for the arrival of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Isaac and decided to post a few photos from last night. As I look at these pictures I can't believe how much Peyton has grown and what a beautiful little girl she has become. She amazes us each and everyday!

Beach Therapy
With just 35 short days until Baby CJ arrives we have all been feeling a little overwhelmed. My "to do" list grows as my energy fades and the summer heat makes you want to hibernate in a cold dark room. Mike has been working overtime at work and even more overtime on our Etsy business, trying to stay ahead of the game before the BIG day. Finally, after two days of a head cold, a grouchy munchkin and being trapped inside I had had enough. Mike had gone to work for a few hours on Sunday morning and I texted him the following....Beach? His reply....Sure, be home in an hour. So I started packing for the trip and immediately felt better.
We didn't go far. Just down to Sanibel near the old lighthouse. We packed a tiny cooler with some snacks and drinks and just my beach bag with a few toys for Pey.
Parking was a breeze and we were settled into the sand in no time at all. Peyton immediately found a little friend who was stationed near by. She and the little girl from the Netherlands played the entire time. We shared snacks and drinks and the two little beach babes had a blast together.
We splashed in the waves, looked for shells and relaxed. We were only there for a couple of hours but it was just enough to recharge our batteries and feel like new people. It's amazing what a little Vitamin D and saltwater will do for the soul.
Who knows if we will make it back in the next 35 days but it sure was worth the trip on Sunday! Happy Wednesday everyone!

First Day of School
Yesterday was a BIG day here! Peyton started her first day of K3 at Fort Myers Christian School. She has been so excited since we told he she was going to school. She talked endlessly about her friends, backpack and teacher. I wasn't quite sure how she knew so much about school since she had never been but I guess we can thank TV for that. Everyday she would ask us if she was going to school.
Her enthusiasm for school made it much easier for me to leave her. She woke up bright and early, ate all her breakfast and got dressed without a hitch. She was ready!
Her teacher is the sweetest woman you will ever meet and there are only 12 kids in the class. They also have a college student as an assistant. I also feel fortunate to know two other children from her class. And they are both girls, which is funny because the class is made up mostly of little boys.
The all important "owl packpack"!
I am happy to report her first day was perfect and she was just as excited to go today! It's official, we have a kid in school! Now we just sit back and wait for her baby brother to arrive to liven this party up!

A Little Sprinkle
On Sunday my best friend and sister threw a Sprinkle to honor the upcoming arrival of Baby CJ. A small group of wonderful ladies gathered at Cristof's, a local restaurant, to celebrate with Peyton and I.
The food was delicious and the setting was perfect!
Peyton enjoyed opening the many gifts she received, as well as, the gifts for CJ.
Obviously, this was Mike's favorite gift, courtesy of Jen.
Here is the entire group of us post gifts and cupcakes. I can't thank you girls enough for sharing such a special day.
The above picture is especially important, as it represents 4 generations of women. Our family of all females babies will soon be a thing of the past.
Lastly, the Sprinkle hosts. My best friend in the world, Nicole and my one and only sister, Amanda. Thank you both so much for a wonderful afternoon. It was perfect!
