Beach Therapy

With just 35 short days until Baby CJ arrives we have all been feeling a little overwhelmed.  My "to do" list grows as my energy fades and the summer heat makes you want to hibernate in a cold dark room.  Mike has been working overtime at work and even more overtime on our Etsy business, trying to stay ahead of the game before the BIG day.  Finally, after two days of a head cold, a grouchy munchkin and being trapped inside I had had enough.  Mike had gone to work for a few hours on Sunday morning and I texted him the following....Beach?  His reply....Sure, be home in an hour.  So I started packing for the trip and immediately felt better.
We didn't go far.  Just down to Sanibel near the old lighthouse.  We packed a tiny cooler with some snacks and drinks and just my beach bag with a few toys for Pey.

Parking was a breeze and we were settled into the sand in no time at all.  Peyton immediately found a little friend who was stationed near by.  She and the little girl from the Netherlands played the entire time.  We shared snacks and drinks and the two little beach babes had a blast together.

We splashed in the waves, looked for shells and relaxed.  We were only there for a couple of hours but it was just enough to recharge our batteries and feel like new people.  It's amazing what a little Vitamin D and saltwater will do for the soul.

Who knows if we will make it back in the next 35 days but it sure was worth the trip on Sunday!  Happy Wednesday everyone!
