The Leaf Collector

There is never a shortage of laughter when it comes to spending time with Peyton.  Even the simplest of activities always seem to turn into an event.  Yesterday, we were out for an afternoon walk before dinner, it was a little breezy and the neighbors leaves were blowing into the street and all over the place.
The leaves immediately caught my curious toddler's eye and she headed straight for them.  She picked up the first one and looked at me with the, "Is this okay, Mom?", look.  I told her to go ahead.  From that point on it was "ON".
She walked from yard to yard gathering as many leaves as she could hold in her little hands.  She was so happy with herself.  She kept showing them to me and people passing by.  She would say, "See this, see this" and keep collecting.
The face above is hilarious to me because she just realized that the yard she was in front of was full of leaves.  It was heaven to her.
Finally it was time to go home and sadly she had to leave her collection behind.  Maybe today we will hunt for rocks!!!

Fountains are fun

This weekend Aunt Amanda came to town for a quick visit.  She was able to capture these shots with
her iPhone of Peyton playing in the fountain.  I would venture to guess that between myself, Aunt Amanda and Michelle; Peyton threw at least $8 worth of change in the fountains. Oh well, she had fun and so did we.

So much life, so little time.

Before we had Peyton the days seemed endless and our time on earth was infinite.  As we have watched her grow and change the past 20 months, both Mike and I are realizing our  time is short and SHE is molding us into the people we are destined to be. We spent the last weekend with family and it was nice....really nice.  And we are thankful, regardless of the the circumstances, for our the time we spent them.

That damn Texas, always running way.

Nana & Grumps dried up retention pond is always so much fun.  Good luck keeping up with me folks!
See ya!!!
Peyton and Alysa...quite a pair!
Rescuing Peyton from the unknown....or the ditch....whatever!
Please don't go Daaddy, please!!!

....Don't worry, he didn't leave.

Thought process of a 19 month old

"Hmm.  Dad's getting in his car to leave.  Better go get in mine real quick."

 "Bye Daddy, right behind you."
"Okay, his car is a little faster than mine."
 "Any thoughts 'Mom?"
"Might be better if I get inside.  Bye, See you."
"To heck with it, I'm faster n foot."
"I can't even see him anymore."
"Come on baby, we better get movin."
Aren't they hilarious?!?!

BIG GAME = BIG FUN

As if things haven't been busy enough around here lately, Mike and I decided to have a Super Bowl party.  Nothing major, just a few friends and neighbors and one BIG screen in our front yard....oh and keg beer and chicken wings of course
Peyton was very helpful all day helping us decorate and get everything ready. Of course, helpful is relative....she carried the balloons around all day.

It was so much fun to camp out in the front yard and watch the game.  I think we are going to do it for every big game from now on.
 Notice the little assistant.

I love this picture of her and her sissy.  She had obviously made a mess of everything she had eaten and was getting near the end of her evening.  Off to the bath she went with the help of Aunt Krystal and lots of soap!
It was such a fun evening.  We can't wait to do it again!  GO PACK GO!

Old Timers

Saturday we spent the day at the Old Timers Anitque Show in Alva.  We went to try to sell some on engraved items and Peyton went to play.  Unfortunately, I didn't get very many pictures of her but that's because she was on the move the entire time.
Whether it was being pulled in the wagon or leading one of us around to see the alpacas for the twentieth time, she was busy!

By lunch time she was pooped and so were we.  Look how pink her little cheeks are....so done with the Old Timers!

What the heck is she doing?

So after our calm morning of playtime and snuggling Peyton took a good long nap.  I was working in the garage when I heard her on the monitor just chatting away and giggling.  When I made my way into to get the little monster, this is what I found.  I promise I had no hand in this, except taking the photos for evidence.  She is crazy!
