Redneck Swimming Pool

Let me begin by saying that, yes, both Mike and I have some redneck in our DNA. However, we did not stage or encourage Peyton's following actions, she rednecked it all on her own.  And yes, I just made up the word "rednecked".
So our Sunday started out like many other Sundays around here.  We missed/skipped church, so we decided to do a little  bit of yard work and a little bit of cleaning in the garage.  Mike sat the cooler outside to dry and I decided it would be fun for Peyton to play in the hose while I washed her outdoor toys.
The next thing we know she had made a mini swimming pool out of our beach cooler.
Hilarious, yes, but crazy as we have a real swimming pool in our back yard.

She splashed and laughed and I took 1000 pictures because I thought it was hysterical. And I am glad I did, these are some of my favorite pictures to date.

We had such a fantastic day on Sunday.  It was just the three of us all day, playing, laughing and spending time together.  It didn't hurt that the weather was perfect either!

 She's showing Daddy a bird.
Oh yeah....GO Gators!  The bucket reminded me.

I am not lying, she sat in that cooler for over an hour.  That is some cheap, redneck entertainment!

She just got her Daddy real good with the hose!

Oh, he told her the lid would break if she leaned on it.  Look at his face.  :)
NEMO....that just added to the fun.  Nana and Grumps got that for her a few weekends ago and she had to test it out in her mini fish tank.

Here is the moral of the story as I see it....you are only a kid once, so if you parents are cool enough to let you play in the cooler with the hose all day, GO FOR IT!  And at the end of the day if all you have left is a broken cooler and a happy kid, then you hit the jackpot.  Happy Redneck Tuesday!

Monday

We are ready for a cool down in South Florida.  Poor Peyton stays cooped up in the house during the day to avoid the blistering heat.  However, we do venture out in the evening as the sun is setting for some outdoor play.  I took these photos last night with my phone.

She was very concerned that her baby did not have shoes on.
She is also the friendliest kid ever.  She waves at all passing cars, people and dogs.  Her waves are often accompanied with a string of "Hi"s followed with "Bye"s.

She insisted that I take a picture of her baby.  After I took it she looked at the photo and said, "Oh, that's good".  Glad you approve honey.
Happy Tuesday!

"Whessy"

Peyton calls them Whessies and I couldn't think of a cuter way to say horse.  We visited my parents on Labor Day and Peyton showed us her lack of fear of the Whessies.

When Peyton was just a little thing we introduced her to the horses.  She would cry and try to get away as fast as she could.  She would cling to her dad or I with a death grip.
 Look at her now.

If Papa has anything to do with it, she will be barrel racing by the time she is 5.

You can already see that she loves them all.  She is a fraction of their size and she isn't afraid. Her little hand reaches out to each one she sees. "Hi Whessy"!
And there isn't anyone who could stop my Dad from smiling when he has her in his arms and she is loving on his horses.  He is like a big, happy kid!  They melt my heart.

Guess what she is saying????  "Who's that?"  I know because she asked us about every single horse she saw.

I wish she could spend everday with the whessies.  She sure would be one happy little girl!  Good night and Happy Thursday to you all!

I'm not old....

I'm experienced!

On Monday I turned 30 and as much as I thought I would dread the milestone it hasn't bothered me a bit.  Sure, no one really wants to get older but I feel proud to be 30 and in the place I am.  I was never one of those girls who had timelines for my life. However, I am thankful that time has landed me right here with a fantastic husband and an amazing little girl.
Her little face looks like she just got word her Mom is 30! And if you know Peyton her next words would be "Oh No!". (with hands to the face and all)
On Sunday we had a cookout with some of our closest friends.  I really wish there were more photos but we were all too busy eating and lovin' on little kids to take pictures.
 Even Lola was happy!

I imagine that these photos will haunt these two kids in their teenage years.  Apparently Liam likes to grill with his shirt off and as you can see, if it is good eneough for Liam it is good enough for Peyton.  There was no telling her no about removing her shirt.  She was going to match Buddy, no matter what.
My goodness I love these two.  They get closer and closer everyday and really love spending time together.  And thank goodness because football season is starting and Daddy Hassen and Daddy Jones can't miss a game together!
Sunday was such a fun day and I am so thankful to all of you who came to celebrate with us.  Happy Birthday to me!!!

Transformers

Peyton attended her first full-fledged boy birthday party this past weekend.  It was Transformer themed....remember the Transformers from back in the day? Transformers, more than meets the eye.
She looks so grown up sitting at te table with all the kids.  It's funny at their young age how it doesn't matter to any of the kids who they are friends with, boy or girl, it doesn't matter to them.  I assume in a few years we will be dealing with boy cooties.

Play Date

On Wednesday Kenley visited our house for the first time outside of her Mommy's tummy.  Check out the kids in action.  They are all so cute!

This picture makes me laugh because right before I took it I said, "Who wants their picture taken?". Liam popped right up and gave me the sweetest grin.

Peyton seems more like a momma everyday!

This is my favorite picture!  When I was little my mom helped to arrange me, my sister and several other kids on a couch for a picture.  This picture of Peyton, Liam and Kenley reminds me of that picture.  A couple decades later and the pictures are still the same, just with different kiddies.
 Poor Kenley....
All that posing and baby holding makes a girl thirsty.  We hope everyone has a fantastic Labor Day Weekend!
